the timeline of change

So often new clients ask “How often should I come to receive sessions”? “How soon/quickly will I notice the change I’m seeking”?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

People schedule sessions with me hoping for relief from pain, jaw tension, migraines, stress, “mystery symptoms” that can’t be explained, overwhelm, hypervigilance, nervous system dysregulation, support through life changes and more.

Maybe your body and mind adapted to protect itself after an injury, illness, grief, or difficult experience and didn’t quite have the resources to come back to center afterwards. Maybe you’ve been carrying stress in the neck, jaw, or shoulders. Maybe headaches or migraines show up when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you notice tightness in your chest or a lump in the throat every time you try to talk about that one past experience.

The truth is. every person arrives with a unique history, nervous system, and set of experiences and goals. The frequency of sessions is ultimately guided by your needs, your body and mind’s response to treatment, and your own inner wisdom.

While many clients notice shifts after a single session, meaningful and lasting change often unfolds through a series of sessions over time. Just as patterns in the body, subconscious mind, and nervous system often develop gradually, creating new patterns of ease, resilience, and regulation is typically a process.

Through Clinical Hypnosis and CranioSacral Therapy I use techniques that create the circumstances in which your body-mind system can attune to a felt sense of ease, peace, support, and safety. From this state, your system can soften, release, and find a new way of being that supports the life you want to live.

I routinely integrate guided meditation, hypnotic reprogramming, simple breathing practices, interoception techniques, and somatic dialoguing that you can continue to practice in your daily life and keep up the momentum we build together during sessions.

I’ve created a general guide of how often to schedule sessions that may help you understand what to expect.

For New Clients

When beginning CranioSacral Therapy, many people benefit from receiving sessions every 1–2 weeks for the first 3–6 appointments. This allows your system to build momentum and gives us an opportunity to observe patterns, track changes, and support deeper integration.

For Ongoing Support

Once symptoms begin to improve and your nervous system has established a greater sense of balance, many clients transition to sessions every 3–6 weeks.

For Maintenance & Well-Being

Some clients choose to receive CranioSacral Therapy monthly or seasonally as part of their ongoing wellness routine. Kind of like a “tune up”. These sessions can help support nervous system regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.

During Times of Increased Stress or Transition

Periods of stress, illness, injury, grief, major life changes, or emotional processing may call for more frequent sessions. During these times, weekly or biweekly appointments can provide additional support and help your system navigate change with greater ease.

Trusting Your Own Timing

One of the core principles of my work is honoring the wisdom of your body and nervous system. Together, we'll pay attention to how you're responding and adjust the frequency of sessions accordingly. My goal is never to create dependence, but to support your capacity for self-regulation, resilience, and connection to your own inner guidance.
