Wow, this reading feels unexpectedly honest. You can’t make this stuff up!
As always, I set the intention that this reading be clear, useful, and true for those who are called to engage with it. I pulled two cards, the first “what we need less of” 3 of Cups, and the second “what we need more of” 3 of Swords. Take what you like and leave what’s not for you, after all, you are your own most precious compass.
This month asks us to move away from avoidance, particularly through social distractions, and to turn inward. There is something that needs to be acknowledged, perhaps a loss, a grief, or a truth you’ve been softening around. Yes, you can celebrate what’s beautiful in your life and have a good time, but do not do so without honoring what hurts.
Bypassing sadness or grief isn’t advised right now. You are brave enough and emotionally aware enough to meet it. Remember, emotions are simply energy in motion, often times we can process simply by allowing the energy to move by acknowledging it. The invitation is not to isolate, support can be gentle and present, but to seek clarity for you, not through other people’s opinions or projections. When we constantly outsource our knowing, we can skirt the real work of seeing what’s true for our own hearts.
The Three of Swords can feel intense intense, it carries weight of loss and heartbreak, but whether we like it or not, these are part of the human experience. Healing begins when we acknowledge the wound instead of blaming, hiding, or inflating pride to cover the pain. Go deeper. Notice what lies beneath the anger, behind the blame, behind the disbelief. Be brave and be gentle: tend the wound daily with tenderness, patience, and whatever metaphorical healing salves your heart needs.
You’re being called to acknowledge and feel your feelings. You’re being called to be emotionally brave and tender at once. You deserve care, forgiveness, and sweetness. Give those things to yourself, steadily and with intention, and watch how your relationships and your inner world begin to realign and expand.
