August Collective Tarot

Welcome to August’s Collective Tarot Reading. This month I’ve decided to do things a bit differently. One of my missions with Big Bright Circle is to help folks come home to themselves, connect to their own sense of inner knowing, and foster self trust.

So, I’ve pulled 3 cards and interpreted their messages, and in an effort to bring you into the divination process, I invite you (*before scrolling down*) to take a few moments to slow down, come into the present moment, circle into your own center.  Maybe find your breath, maybe lengthen your spine, perhaps close your eyes and allow yourself to choose card 1, card 2, or card 3. Try not to overthink it, just allow the number to come to you and stick with it. Then, you can go ahead and scroll down to read the message associated with your number for this month of August.

  1. If you chose card number one, your card for the month is The Wheel (reversed)

This card speaks to the cyclical nature of life and its inevitable ups and downs. And in these cycles, things can change in an instant. You’re encouraged to enjoy the highs while they’re here, and when you're in a low, allow yourself to feel it fully, knowing it won’t last forever.

This variation of the classic Wheel of Fortune shows a spider on its web, steadily doing what it knows to do to survive and thrive. The spider understands its web might be destroyed at any moment, but it doesn’t worry. It’s uniquely wired to rebuild, again and again without a sense of distress. The spider is at peace as it expects the unexpected. This is a message to remember the wisdom you innately embody, how incredibly capable you are, and that change is part of the divine flow, neither “good” or “bad”.

Cultivate joy, purpose, and pride in whatever you’re creating. This is the essence of life’s journey. The turns of the wheel are part of a larger story. We can’t always control what’s coming, but we can choose to appreciate the present and trust that change is always part of the process. You were born for this life. Your soul chose this life.

Card 1: The Wheel (reversed)

2. If you chose card number two, your card of the month is The Moon.

You are being called to trust yourself. You are deeply connected to the mystery and magic of the moon. Just as the moon moves the tides of the Earth, it stirs the waters within you. You carry wisdom. You are part of something greater. Nothing is a mistake.

If there’s an identity you long to embody, but fear what it might cost, this is your invitation to begin moving toward it.
If there’s a dream or desire you’ve been afraid to admit, it’s time to claim it.If there’s a problem or issue you’ve been avoiding for whatever reason, now is a good time to begin to work through it.

With everything illuminated, what is there to hide from?

Not even the vast ocean can resist the pull of the moon, and neither can you. Let yourself flow with what is already in motion. Imagine what is possible when we move through the fear and  stop resisting the callings and longings of your spirit. Trust the greater plan. Let yourself be guided into the beautiful mystery of the unknown. Allow yourself to surrender to your deepest truths and watch this act of bravery open the doors to your future.

Card 2: The Moon

3. If you chose card three, your card of the month is Page of Wands (reversed) carrying the message to reclaim your power!

Scream into the void. Be brave. Be wild. Remember that you are an animal. You are free.

There is power in your truth, in your voice. You may think you can’t make a difference, or that you’re missing something essential, but you’re not. Everything you need is already within you.

If someone or something has made you feel small, unworthy, or powerless, it’s time to transform that energy into movement… into change… into love… into a ROAR.

Life is bursting with possibility… magic, play, curiosity, creation. If you’ve been playing small, shrinking yourself, or giving your power away, this is your moment to shift.

Take up space. Get loud. Reclaim who you are by reintroducing curiosity, playfulness, joy, and imagination. For example…if your goal is confidence, but you don’t feel it yet, start by pretending… embody confidence by yourself in your room as you get ready for the day. What would the confident version of you wear? Imagine what the confident version of you say to themselves in the mirror, and say it, every day, until it moves from feeling silly to normal. Dance to a song that invokes confidence for you and notice that confidence moving in your body. If you’ve been wanting to stand up for yourself with someone in your life, practice with a friend or with the mirror enough times until you remember that it is your right to kindly speak your boundaries, express your needs, and unapologetically be yourself. You might be playing or pretending at first, but these acts are gifts to yourself that help you remember who you are and will make it easier for you to show up in the way you know you want to as you move forward.

And the more we can do this for ourselves as individuals, think about what is possible for the collective and the movements that require our power and strength at this time.

This is a time of empowerment and liberation, a call to bold expression and radical transformation. You’ve got this. We’ve got this. <3

Card 3: Page of Wands (reversed)
